Little Rapids Corporation Purchases Famis Manufacturing

“It is a good fit which will allow us to continue to grow in our core markets.”

Green Bay, WI, (June 25, 2008) – Little Rapids Corporation, a leading manufacturer and marketer of products for the healthcare and beauty markets, announced today it has purchased Famis Manufacturing. Famis is a manufacturer of single-use products for the beauty and barber industry. Both companies are based in Green Bay, WI.

“This is a good fit for Little Rapids,” said Kirk Ryan, Little Rapids’ President and Chief Executive Officer. “Famis Manufacturing has built several strong brands and has an excellent reputation in the marketplace. Famis is also very complementary to our Graham Beauty business.” The production of Famis products will immediately be moved to the Little Rapids manufacturing facility on Larsen Road in Green Bay.

Famis is owned and operated by Ralph and Beth Aschenbrenner. “We’re proud of our product line and its growth,” said Ralph Aschenbrenner. “But, we’re at a point where we need additional expertise and capital to take it to the next step. Little Rapids will provide that.”

Famis employees will be interviewed for possible job placement with Little Rapids. In addition, the 10 impacted hourly employees are being provided with severance pay and outplacement services.
